John L. Scott (external): John
L. Scott deployed a Cisco Unified Wireless Network across several offices
and three states to attract and retain top real estate agents. The
solution is composed of Cisco Aironet 1100 and 1200 Series lightweight access
points deployed across 42 offices, managed centrally at company headquarters
by a Cisco 4400 Series wireless LAN controller and Cisco Wireless Control
System (WCS) management software. WCS includes site survey tools, in addition
to advanced management, security, and network diagnostic features. While
the Cisco Unified Wireless Network deployment at John L. Scott is still
in progress, the financial benefits of an enterprise-level wireless network
were clear from the beginning, starting at the top of the company. To read

Toyota Motor Sales
USA (internal): Toyota Motor Sales (TMS) migrated to the Cisco
Unified Wireless Network from a standalone (autonomous) solution to increase
productivity and collaboration among their employees and guests including
suppliers, partners, and vendors. TMS has found the Cisco Unified Wireless
Network to be very easy to use. They like the fact that they do not have
to extend VLANs to every switch. TMS has already found that the time required
to train new IT personnel on managing the WLAN with Cisco WCS is
significantly reduced. To read the full story, visit:

Princess Cruises (external): Princess
Cruises deployed Wi-Fi across its fleet of luxury cruise ships to meet the
needs of the modern vacationer. MTM Technologies, a Cisco Gold Certified
Partner and Princess Cruises decided to equip each ship with a Unified Wireless
Network from Cisco. Cisco was chosen due to its superior security tools
as well as the central management features that the ships required. The
networks included a mix of Cisco Aironet 1100 and 1200 Series lightweight
access points and Cisco 4400 Series wireless LAN controllers. The WLANs
on each ship were connected to the ship's main satellite network feed.
Today, two ships in the fleet are fully equipped with wireless network access
in most of the public areas of the ship. The rest of the fleet will be equipped
by late spring of 2007, and Princess may be working with MTM Technologies
to expand the wireless beyond the public areas to all passenger and crew
areas of the ships within the next year. To read the full story, visit:

City of Gilroy (external): The
City of Gilroy needed a flexible and secure wireless infrastructure that
could support all of their applications, as well as other
technology initiatives planned for the coming years. Manageability was also
essential, as the city would own and operate the solution itself. After
considering several options, city leaders chose the Cisco Outdoor Wireless
Network Solution. The city already used Cisco network and IP voice solutions,
and Gilroy IT officials had a great deal of confidence in Cisco technologies.
In addition, the ability to manage the new wireless infrastructure as simply
an extension of the Cisco network that was already in place was extremely
attractive. Today, the City of Gilroy has outdoor wireless coverage at key
points throughout the city,
and the solution has been a major success. From a public safety standpoint
alone, the outdoor wireless solution is helping improve the effectiveness
of city officers and the safety of Gilroy citizens. Although the solution
today is limited only to those vehicles traveling in range of one of the
system's access points, the added bandwidth and capabilities are already
making a difference. Mobile officers using the system can offload video
from their cars and have it analyzed much more quickly, improving their
productivity.
The system also allows them to stay in the field longer, instead of having
to return to the station every time they need to offload video or information.
Officers in the field also have faster, more comprehensive access to a broad
range of essential state and local resources. To read the full story, visit:

University of Arizona (external): The
University of Arizona deployed a Cisco Unified Wireless Network across its
campus to provide ubiquitous network access. Because Cisco had been
the university's trusted networking provider for years, and because Cisco
offered superior wireless hardware and software tools, the school chose
a Cisco Unified Wireless Network, featuring centralized access point management
and control.
The first phase involved covering the main campus student
center and several high traffic areas in time for the Fall 2006 semester.
The next phase, completed in December of 2006, covered about 50 percent
of the campus with some 3000 access points. Again, the team prioritized
areas of high student traffic, such as student unions and libraries. The
Wireless Project is due for completion by the end of 2007. With 6800 to
7000 access points, it will cover 85 percent of the main campus, as well
as a branch campus in Sierra Vista, Arizona and the medical college in Phoenix.
